Why Tucker Built
Why fencing is different with us
Fencing only works long term when the parts nobody photographs are done right. Here's what that means on your job.
Galvanized steel posts
Every post is steel set in concrete. Buried wood rots at the ground line in Bay Area clay — ours doesn't.
Straight, plumb lines
String lines and laser-set posts so a 180-foot run reads dead straight from the street.
Graded lumber
Kiln-dried western red cedar and quality panels — we don't build with warped, wet box-store pickets.
Gates that stay square
Welded or braced frames with heavy hardware so gates don't sag in the first season.
Survey-respectful builds
We build your fencing to the survey line so there's no neighbor dispute later.
Tear-out included
Old fence demo, post removal and haul-off quoted in the same fixed written price.
How the job runs

- 02
Fixed written price
One clear number with scope, thickness, rebar and finish spelled out before anything starts.
- 03
Form & prep
Forms set, base compacted, vapor barrier and rebar tied and inspected before concrete is ordered.
- 04
Pour & protect
Clean pour, proper cure, protected edges, and a final walkthrough with you before we leave.

FAQ
Fencing questions
Why steel posts instead of wood?+
Gulf Coast clay swells and shrinks, and buried wood posts rot at the ground line. Galvanized steel posts set in concrete keep the fence plumb for decades.
How long does a cedar fence take to build?+
A typical residential backyard runs one to three days depending on footage, demo and gate count. Post concrete cures before pickets go on.
Do I need to stain a new cedar fence?+
Not immediately — cedar should weather for a few weeks first. Staining after that slows graying and protects against moisture; we can schedule it as a return visit.
Do you build the fence on my property line?+
We build to your survey. If a line is unclear, we'll recommend confirming it before we set posts so there's no dispute later.
